Learning is most powerful when it is experienced with all the senses. With the Back to School season as our starting point, Museum of Senses Milano is proud to introduce the Curriculum Project, an always-on educational experience designed to give students an enriched, interactive way to explore our space and discover the science behind their senses πΒ
Whether you are planning a school trip or a group visit, the Curriculum Project transforms a standard museum experience into an immersive quest. Instead of simply walking through the exhibits, visitors go deeper, completing missions, observing phenomena, questioning perception, and discovering the science behind the senses through a structured, educational framework tailored to different age groups π§ β
The Sense Quest Curriculum is an interactive learning journey woven directly into the museum experience, designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world perception. To keep the content engaging, age-appropriate, and pedagogically relevant, the curriculum is divided into three specialized programs πβ
1. Sense Quest Junior
Tailored for young explorers and primary school groups (4-8 years old), this program introduces the basics of sensory awareness, simple physics, and hands-on discovery. Through fun, guided challenges, visual riddles, and tactile stations, children explore how their senses gather information from the world around them while developing observation skills and satisfying their natural curiosity π§©
2. Sense Quest Explorer
Designed for upper primary and middle school groups (9-13 years old), Explorer takes the learning experience a step further, introducing optics, cognitive science, and the fascinating boundary between perception and reality. Through optical games, acoustic tricks, and collaborative challenges, participants observe physical phenomena, question their assumptions, and discover how the brain processes sensory information, turning curiosity into a deeper, hands-on learning experience ποΈ
3. Sense Quest Discovery
Suitable for teenagers aged 14-18, Discovery is the most advanced and challenging of the three programs. The museum becomes a hands-on laboratory where students tackle scientific missions, investigate real-world phenomena, and connect biology, physics, and perception to concepts explored in the classroom. By observing, questioning, testing hypotheses, and recording their discoveries, they develop critical thinking and a deeper understanding of how sensory perception works π¬β

Turn Curiosity into Learning with the Curriculum Project
The Sense Quest Curriculum is an optional add-on to the standard museum visit, created for groups who want to take their experience one step further. Instead of simply exploring the exhibits, students actively investigate what they see, connect sensory illusions to concepts they know from school, and learn through challenges, teamwork, and discovery. Itβs the perfect way to make a school trip more engaging, more meaningful, and easier to connect to the classroom, while giving students an experience they will remember long after the visit π«
Why teachers love it:Β
β½ It makes learning hands-on and engaging
β½ It brings classroom concepts to life
β½ It lets discover science behind the senses
β½ It puts observation and critical thinking into practice
β½ Students learn by exploring and working together
β½ They enjoy a school trip that feels anything but ordinaryΒ
